Dean Anderson, 25 was found deceased with a self inflicted gunshot wound to his head after law enforcement breached the home and sent in a robot and drone to search the residence. Â The female who was found at the scene was released from the hospital, yesterday.

At approximately 11:32 am the Cannon Falls Police Department responded to a 911 call of a female that reported being shot at in a residence. Â Officers located a 26 year old female that had been shot and after moving her to a safe area she was transported by ambulance to a hospital.
The 25 year old male suspect is believed to be in the residence at 1st st N.  Officers established a perimeter around the residence with the assistance from Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, State Patrol.  Additional resources have been requested to assist in attempts to contact the suspect.
A standoff in Cannon Falls, Minnesota has been underway for more than four hours.
Police say a woman was shot and taken to a hospital. A man, believed to be the suspect, is still inside the home.
A shelter-in-place order remains in effect for the area.

1st st N from State st to Mill st is closed for this investigation.
At approximately 5:05 pm the suspect was confirmed deceased inside the residence.
There is police activity in the area and will be for several hours.
