Trinity Ottoson-Smith, 9 was shot on 15 May 2021 in the head while playing on a trampoline at a friend’s birthday party in north Minneapolis. She was taken to North Memorial Hospital in critical condition. The shooter was in a red 4-door Ford vehicle. She died 27 May 2021.
Dpree Robinson, 19, was charged with a single count of intentional second-degree murder for the shooting that killed the Trinity in North Minneapolis in mid-May 2021. Robinson was arrested on 23 February 2022.

Robinson 20, plead guilty in court today to second-degree murder. His trial was suppose to start today. He was charged with first-degree murder.
It definitely save Trinity’s family from living that horrible day again!
Robinson had a beef with someone in the hood when he went and shot it up on 15 May 2021. He knew kids were in the backyard and still shot.
Robinson’s drive-by shooting was captured on surveillance video. The suspect vehicle’s model and license plate were seen on the video. Three men on the porch were the intended targets. The video shows one of the men chasing the suspect vehicle on foot and appearing to return fire three times. The gun was later recovered during the arrest of one of the men present at the shooting. The car has never been found. It is said that Robinson purchased the vehicle 3 days prior to the shooting.
Robinson’s sentencing is 21 March 2023!
Dpree Shareef Robinson pleads guilty in murder of 9-year-old jumping on trampoline
Dpree Shareef Robinson pled guilty to second-degree murder in the shooting death of Trinity Ottoson-Smith, a 9-year-old who had been jumping on a trampoline with friends, Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty announced today. Robinson will receive a 450-month prison sentence when he is sentenced March 21.
“Trinity was doing what kids should be doing in spring time in Minnesota, playing with friends and having fun outside,” Moriarty said. “Mr. Robinson’s actions shocked our community and devastated her family and all who loved her. I’m hopeful his admission of guilt begins to bring some degree of closure for Trinity’s family and the community.”
According to the criminal complaint, this was a gang-related drive-by shooting that was captured from a distance on surveillance video. Trinity was jumping on a trampoline in a residential backyard and was struck and killed by the gunfire. The trampoline, Trinity, and her friends were directly between Mr. Robinson and the intended targets.
