Evelyn Boswell who was last seen on 26 December 2019 was reported missing on 18 February 2020 by a family member. A search for Evelyn landed investigators at a family residence on 6 March where they found Evelyn’s remains.
The Sullivan County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Megan Boswell with 2 counts of Felony Murder, 1 count of Aggravated Child Abuse, 1 count of Aggravated Child Neglect, 1 count of Tampering with Evidence, 1 count of Abuse of a Corpse, 1 count of Failure to Report a Death Under Suspicious, Unusual, or Unnatural Circumstances, and 12 counts of False Reports. Boswell was served in the Sullivan County Jail, where she was already being held on False Report charges placed in connection to this case.
