dr-gDr. Jan C. Garavaglia (aka: Dr. G) – Chief Medical Examiner for the District 9 (Orange-Osceola Counties, FL).   Performed the autopsy on girl skeletal remains and identified same as that of Caylee Marie Anthony on December 19, 2008. REPORT

Dr. Gary Utz – Deputy Chief Medical Examiner. Lead Pathologist assigned to the case inspected items found with the remains after they were photographed and logged in.  Those items were describes as duct tape, a Winnie-the-Pooh blanket, a pair of Circo brand size 24-mos. pink and white striped shorts, the collar of a t-shirt, and parts of what appeared to be a pair of pull-up pants for a child.

Steve Hanson – District 9 Medical Examiner’s Office collected the Caylee’s remains, tied back vines and moved the log at the Suburban DR crime scene.

Dr. John Schultz – Professor of Anthropology at UCF.  Based upon the dispersion of Caylee’s bones, amount of decay present on the bones, the amount of leaf growth through the bag and her remains and that her body was in the woods during the torrential summer rains.  Dr. Schultz concluded that Caylee had been placed in the woods shortly after death and before autumn or fall.

Dr. Neal Haskell – Entomologist/Forensic Botanist. Main area of expertise is forensic entomology. Entomology refers to insects and Forensic refers to investigation into the cause of death.  Dr. Haskell uses his knowledge of the life cycles of insects to determine time and location of death.  He co-authored the first textbook on Forensic Entomology for law enforcement. He concluded that the odor of human decomposition in the trunk of Casey’s car could have begun from between June 17-June 20 and that Caylee’s body was most likely removed during the period of June 19-22.

Dr. James W. Jawitz – an associate professor in the Soil and Water Science Dept. and Director of Graduate Programs at the U of FL, Gainesville, FL.  Conducted an investigation into the historical measured water levels between 8750 and 8798 Suburban DR. He summarized the conclusions and submitted a report to ASA Jeff Ashton on 11/3/09.

C. Douglas Clark – Sr. Research Technician at the UCF’s National Center for Forensic Science. Reported, along with Dr. Michael Sigman, to the OCSO Forensics Unit July 21-23, 2008 to take air samples from the trunk of Casey’s car. Samples were collected using different methods, and shipped to Dr. Vass at Oak Ridge Labs in TN.

Dr. David W. Hall – Environmental consultant forensic botanist expert from Gainesville, FL. He has founded an environmental and forensic consulting firm headquartered in Gainesville where he specializes in forensics and plant identification. REPORT  

Dr. Jeffrey A Danziger – He has been with the FL Clinical Research Center since 2004 as a Sub-Investigator and Principal Investigator. Practicing Psychiatry since 1983. He is board Certified in Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry and Addictions. At the 7/22/08 Bond Hearing, Judge Strickland order a psychological evaluation (with Baker Act criteria) to be performed on Casey.  Dr. Danziger is one of two Psychiatrists who will conduct the evaluation.

Dr. Alan S. Berns – practices addiction psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and psychiatry in Lake Mary, Florida. Dr. Berns graduated with an MD 27 years ago.  At the 7/22/08 Bond Hearing, Judge Strickland order a psychological evaluation (with Baker Act criteria) to be performed on Casey. Dr. Berns is one of two Psychiatrists who will conduct the evaluation.

John Dennis Bradley – CEO & Founder of SiQuest Corporation, Canada. Prosecution’s CacheBack Expert. On 12/10 – 12/11/09 He was able to recover and reconstruct a total of 8557 internet history records from the Anthony’s HP Desktop hard drive. He noted that the data recovered from unallocated spaces may have been deleted very close to the time the host computer was seized by investigators.  RP [discovery doc pp. 12,476 – 12479]

Dr. Henry Chung-Yu Lee – the current Chief Emeritus for Scientific Services for the State of CT. A forensic expert who gained fame in 1994 O.J. Simpson case.  Member of Attorney Baez’s Defense Team. On 12/15/08 NG Show, Dr. Lee said he is working Pro Bono.  Effective 3/18/10 (Indigency Hearing) he was approved for compensation at the applicable JAC rates for work performed; related travel expenses; cost associated with testing and time spent testifying at the criminal trial in 2011.

Dr. Timothy Huntington – the Asst. Professor of Biology at Concordia University in NB, where he teaches Principles of Biology, Elements of Anatomy and Physiology, Entomology, Gross Anatomy I & II, Zoology, and Community Ecology.  Member of Attorney Baez’s Defense Team.

Dr. Kenneth G. Furton – Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Dean of Arts & Sciences and was the founding Director and currently Director Emeritus of the International Forensic Research Institute at Florida International University (FIU).

Dr. Jane H. Bock – Professor Emerita at the Department of Environmental, Population, and Organismic Biology, at the Univ. of Colorado (Boulder). Research interests include the ecology and evolution of flowering plants in the Colorado Alpine and High Plains and similar areas elsewhere in the Northern Hemisphere and the reproductive patterns of flowering plants.

Dr. Scott Fairgrieve – chair of the Department of Forensic Science at Laurentian University, and the consulting Forensic Anthropologist for the Northeastern Regional Forensic Pathology Unit in Sudbury, Ontario, is participating as an expert consultant to Lead Defense Attorney José A. Baez.

Dr. Richard Eikelenboom – Director of DNA at Independent Forensic Services (IFS) and DNA scientist and bloodstain pattern analyst. Expert in trace recovery. Known for his advances in touch DNA, a science where a few skin cells can be used to identify a suspect. As an expert consultant to the Baez Defense Team, he participated in evidence inspections (7/13 & 7/14/2010) of materials found in 3 potential crime scenes associated with the Caylee Anthony homicide case.

Dr. Selma Eikelenboom-Schieveld – Medical Director at IFS and forensic medical scientist. Introduces a new model to estimate time of death and explains the Bayesian approach in medical cases. As an expert consultant to the Baez Defense Team, she participated in evidence inspections (7/13 & 7/14/2010) of materials found in 3 potential crime scenes associated with the Caylee Anthony homicide case.

Dr. Werner Spitz – A native of Israel, Dr. Spitz is a Professor of Pathology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI; Adjunct Professor of Pathology at the University of Windsor in Canada; and a forensic pathology and toxicology consultant.  Member of Attorney Baez’s Defense Team.

Dr. Kathy Reichs – currently consults for the Laboratoire de Sciences Judiciaires et de Médecine Légale in the province of Québec.  A forensic anthropologist consultant to Attorney Baez.

Steven N. Gold, PhD Professor at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Center for Psychological Studies in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  Dr. Gold earned his doctoral degree at Michigan State University and his bachelor’s degree at Washington University in St. Louis. He specializes in research, treatment of and training in psychological trauma and trauma-related disorders, dissociation, hypnosis, and sexual addiction-compulsivity. On 7/23/10 he visited with Casey for over 3 1/2 hrs.

Jeanene Barrett  Mitigation Specialist for the CJCC. Joined the CJCC in March, 2008 after 11 yrs. of child welfare. Received her M.A. in Social Work from the Univ. of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, M.S. degree in Human Services Admin. from Spertus College, and a B.S. in Criminal Justice from S. Illinois Univ., Carbondale. Consultant to the Baez Defense Team. Barrett visited with Casey at the OC Jail on 11/14 & 11/15/2009. She also conducted an interview with Casey on 12/12/2009.

Richard Gabriel – President of Decision Analysis. Leader in the field of jury research/selection processes and litigation communication in nearly 1,000 trials (civil & criminal cases).  On 7/30/2010 he visited with Casey in jail.

Larry Daniel – A digital forensics consultant who does several types of digital forensics work: computer forensics, cell phone forensics, CLE training for attys. and digital forensics consulting. Expert witnesses for the Defense Team.

Dennis Fahey – Defense team consultant.  President of Physical Evidence Consultants, Cape Coral, Fla. Retired law enforcement officer. Was called for his expertise by lead defense attorney José Baez within hours of Caylee’s remains being found.

Dr. Lawrence Kobilinsky – the Associate Provost of the Interdisciplinary Forensics Science Department at John Jay College. A forensic scientist consultant to Attorney Baez. On 5/6/2010 Baez announced in court that Dr. Kobilinsky is no longer working for the Defense Team.

Dr. Michael Baden – Medical Doctor and board-certified Forensic Pathologist. Dr. Baden received his medical degree from NY School of Medicine in 1960. He is known for his work investigating high profile deaths and as a host of HBO’s Autopsy. He has appeared on the Nancy Grace Show to provide his expertise regarding forensics associated with the Caylee Marie Anthony story. Married to Linda Kenney-Baden, an attorney on the Jose Baez Defense Team in the case against Casey.
