Man found murdered

A 61 year old Bloomington man of whom all his neighbors spoke highly was found brutally murdered in his mobile home at Lyndale Ave S. at 6:25 pm Monday [19Nov1979].

The victim, George D. Jensen, who lived alone, had not been seen by his neighbors for several days and they called police.

Police Captain Charles Anderson, in charge of the investigation for the Bloomington police, said the cause of death has not yet been determined.

Anderson said the man had been struck on the head several times with a heavy object, probably an ashtray. The man had more than a dozen stab wounds several that could have caused death, Anderson said.

There were stab wounds in both the back and the neck. Jensen’s feet were bound with some kind of duct tape. There was a wire around his neck.

Jensen had a lame arm and lame leg and his neighbors in the mobile home park looked after him and helped him.

Police are questioning several suspects. No arrests had been made at press time.

If you have any information, please contact the Bloomington Police department at 952-563-4900 or email police@bloomingtonmn.gov. Time to get some closure for the family.

If you have a picture of George, please let me know! I would love to add one to this post!
