Both shooting this past weekend were at celebrations of life. Devin Scott who was stabbed to death at school it was his funeral reception, and the other was a celebration of life at a Senior Housing parking lot!

Three teens were shot Friday night at the funeral reception for Devin Scott. He was stabbed to death at Harding High School.
Officers were called to Wellstone Community Center on St. Paul’s West Side around 7:42 pm, Friday.
Ages of the victims are 15 and the other 2 are 17. One was shoot in the hand, leg and buttocks. The victims were brought to Regions Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Shooters left in a white vehicle which was later found 400 block of Clinton Ave after it crashed. The shooters fled.

At about 5:15 p.m., officers were called to the 500 block of Dale Street North, Kings Crossing by Episcopal Homes, on a report of person shot. When officers arrived, they found a chaotic scene and learned that five people had been shot. Officers requested Saint Paul Fire medics to respond to the scene but were informed some of the injured people were transported to local hospitals in private vehicles. One adult male was pronounced dead by Saint Paul Fire medics and another adult male was pronounced dead at United Hospital after arriving in a private vehicle.
Two victims are being treated at Regions Hospital. One is an adult male is in critical condition and the other is an adult female is in stable condition. One adult female is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at United Hospital. All the victims had apparent gunshot injuries.
Preliminary information indicates the shooting occurred in the parking lot on the 500 block of Dale Street North after a celebration of life event that was attended by many people. At the conclusion of the event, an altercation occurred, and shots were fired in the lot. Investigators with the police department’s homicide unit will be interviewing witnesses to understand what occurred and who is responsible. The forensic services and video management units are processing the scene for evidence to tell a story of what occurred.
A motive in this case has not been determined, although investigators do not believe it was a random shooting. No arrests have been made.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct autopsies to positively identify the victims and determine their exact causes of death. That information, along with any updates in the case, will be released on the police department’s Twitter page, @sppdmn.
Larry Jiles Jr., 34, of Hugo was killed in the shooting and Troy Kennedy, 37 of St. Paul.
These are 4th and 5th homicides of 2023.
