They are so brazen they grill on our boulevard on Nicollet. We are all frightened and concerned. Lots of shootings and they hang out in droves. We call the police and no one comes. Another shooting [Tuesday] and they are retaliating out here coming from the street.”

St. Paul police were called to shots fired at 1400 block of Minnehaha Ave. E. A man was found shot outside the apartment building at 1400 block of Minnehaha Ave. East this morning around 5:45 am. A female was also found shot in an apartment. No arrests have been made. [Minneapolis shootings are at the end of this article]

Early morning shooting leaves two dead in Saint Paul

Saint Paul police are investigating after two people were shot and killed early this morning Tuesday, Apr. 18.

At about 5:43 a.m., officers were called to the 1400 block of Minnehaha Avenue East on a report of person shot. When officers arrived, they located an adult female inside an apartment complex suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead on scene.

Additional officers were securing the scene when they located a second victim behind the building.
The second victim, a male, was also suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on scene.

Investigators with the police department’s homicide unit will be interviewing witnesses to understand what occurred and who is responsible for both deaths. The forensic services and video management units are processing the scene for evidence to tell a story of what occurred.
A motive in this case has not been determined and the connection between victims is not clear at this time. No arrests have been made.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct autopsies to positively identify the victims and determine their exact causes of death. That information, along with any updates in the case, will be released on the police department’s Twitter page, @sppdmn.

• A shooting in Minneapolis on the 1800 block of Nicollet Ave. A victim was found on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the face.  The victim was transported to the hospital.  Several suspects ran, one in a colorful jacket.  Video shows the shot came from a vehicle.  Update: 32-year-old Christopher Stephano Bennett died Friday of his wounds.

• Another shooting on 1900 Elliot Ave.  Police received a report of  7-8 shots fired in the area, when they arrived they found a victim with a gunshot wound to the lower leg.

Another victim was found at South 5th St. & Park Ave. with a gunshot wound to the upper leg. The suspect is described as a tall black male wearing all black clothing. This is another victim of the Elliot street shooting.

March 4, 2023 (Minneapolis) Minneapolis Police Officers from the 4th Precinct responded to the report of a shooting on the 3600 Block of Dupont. At approximately 6:00 a.m., a 911 caller stated that a gun had gone off during an argument.

Inside a residence, officers identified an 18-year-old female with at least one potentially life- threatening gunshot wound and a 13-year-old male with at least one apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Both injured parties may have been injured by the same bullet. Both injured parties were transported to North Memorial Medical Hospital in separate ambulances. Despite all lifesaving efforts, the 18-year-old female died at the hospital.

Preliminary information indicates a verbal argument between a mother and her children escalated and a shot was fired. Forensic scientists from the Minneapolis Police Forensic Division responded to process the scene and collect evidence. Homicide investigators responded to begin their investigation.

Investigators are working to determine whether the gunshot was accidental or intentional. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the identity of the deceased female along with the cause and nature of his death.

Ashley Paige Pope, age 39, has been arrested and booked into Hennepin County Jail.

A gun was recovered.

There were three other juveniles in the home at the time of the shooting. They were not injured. The ages and nature of the relationship between the three uninured juveniles and the other occupants is not being disclosed at this time.

An 18 year old is dead and a 13 year old is injured after a mother shot her 18 year old daughter. The 13 year old has an injury to her wrist.

It happened this morning on the 3600 block of Dupont Ave N.

Minneapolis aka Murderapolis leads the way with 97 murders.  That number is tied with their 1995 murders.
BTW, Minneapolis has its first homicide on Saturday 8 January 2022. Of course it’s not the first shooting. A man lying in the street with a gunshot wound on the 4200 block of 11th Avenue South around 9:40 p.m. on reports of shots fired and a crashed car.

St. Paul had 35 murders, the youngest was a 2 years old.   Ramsey County 2021 murder victims
ICYMI St. Paul had their first homicide Sunday 9 January 2022. A woman in her 40s was stabbed at about 2:30 p.m. at an apartment building in the 100 block of West Larpenteur Ave, and police later arrested a man.

St. Cloud had 5 murders.

According to homesnacks.net their numbers are wrong.  No wonder they’ve been mentioned on abc, nbc, and cbs!

United States Attorney Erica H. MacDonald today announced the formation of a new Twin Cities Violent Crime Task Force (Task Force) in response to the extraordinary spike in gun violence and violent crime across the Twin Cities. The Task Force brings together additional federal and state resources to assist local law enforcement to investigate, arrest, and prosecute individuals responsible for gun violence in our communities.

The Task Force will serve as a coordination hub for intelligence and law enforcement operations focused on violent crime in the Twin Cities. Law enforcement partners will utilize the Task Force to maximize intelligence gathering and information sharing capabilities to ensure swift and precise identification of those individuals who are perpetrating violence.

“This increase in violence, particularly the shootings, is unacceptable and it must end – that is why I am launching a new Twin Cities Violent Crime Task Force to help turn the tide,” said U.S. Attorney Erica MacDonald. “The goal of this Task Force is not to flood our communities with law enforcement, but rather to leverage law enforcement’s collective resources to allow for focused and effective enforcement actions. Bringing safety and security back to our cities requires collaboration, and we need law enforcement, city leaders, and community members all working together toward the common goal of bringing an end to this violence.”

The Task Force operates from a multi-agency command center and is comprised of federal agents and analysts from the FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, United States Secret Service, United States Marshals Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, police officers from the Minneapolis and St. Paul Police Departments and deputies from the Hennepin, Ramsey and Dakota counties Sheriff’s Offices, as well as federal and state prosecutors.
