UPDATE: Shooting St. Anthony Avenue and Marion Street St. Paul, 21 year old dead

Saint Paul police are investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a pregnant 21-year-old female. Just before 5 p.m. on March 13, officers were called to Regions Hospital on a report of a female victim with a gunshot injury to her head who was brought to the emergency room in a private vehicle.

Hospital staff immediately took the female victim into the hospital. Officers secured the scene for any possible evidence and began to speak to other people with the victim to determine what occurred.

The female victim recently died of her injuries at Regions Hospital.  The baby did not survive.

The investigation has revealed that the victim was shot inside the car near the intersection of St. Anthony Avenue and Marion Street just before being rushed to Regions Hospital. Investigators are asking anyone who may have been at this location around 5 p.m. on Monday, March 13 to call them at 651-266-5650

The Ramsey County medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine an exact cause of death. This information, along with any updates on the case, will be released on the Saint Paul Police Department Twitter account, @sppdmn.

This is the 7th homicide of the year in Saint Paul.

BREAKING: Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting in Saint Paul that left a pregnant 21-year-old woman dead earlier this week.

Paul Dwayne Harris, 24, was arrested Thursday afternoon in Jordan and booked into the Ramsey County Jail on suspicion of murder.

The victim of the shooting has been identified as Gabriella Dehoyos, 21, of Saint Paul. She was shot in the head near Marion St. & St. Anthony Ave. and was rushed to the hospital. Dehoyos and her unborn baby later died, and a homicide investigation was started.

Harris has two separate felony firearms-related convictions, making him ineligible to possess firearms, and he was on probation at the time of the shooting. According to a previous criminal complaint filed in 2018, Harris admitted to being a “TFM gang member.”
