Update: Minneapolis shooting leaves 1 dead

Adult Male Dies After Shooting

April 3, 2023 (Minneapolis) At approximately 5:35 pm this evening, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department’s 1st Precinct responded to the 1500 Block of Park Avenue for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found bystanders attempting lifesaving measures on an adult male. Officers took over performing lifesaving measures and determined that the adult male had a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS arrived and transported the adult male to CMC. Despite all lifesaving efforts, the adult male died.

Preliminary information indicates that the adult male got into an argument with an individual who was known to him who then apparently shot him.

Due to the nature of the incident, homicide investigators responded to the scene to begin their investigation.

Forensic scientists from the Minneapolis Police Forensic Division responded to process the scene and collect evidence.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the identity of the deceased male along with the cause and nature of his death.

There have been no arrests.

A shooting in Minneapolis on the 1500 block of Park Avenue just after 5:30 pm, has left 1 man dead. When police arrived they found the victim on the ground unresponsive with a gunshot to the chest. CPR was immediately started by neighbors until emergency responders arrived.  The victim died shortly at the hospital.

According to reports, the victim and suspected knew each other, and neighbors heard people arguing, followed by a gunshot.

The suspect is said to be a black male wearing a white top and black pants, last seen on foot in the alley.
