BLAINE POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE:

On April 4, 2023, at approximately 6:00 pm, a robbery occurred at the Walmart located at 4369 Ball Road NE in the City of Blaine. A male suspect was shoplifting and when stopped by Loss Prevention, the suspect pulled a gun and threatened the employee prior to leaving the scene.

The suspect was subsequently identified by the Blaine Police Department. Personnel from the Blaine Police Department, as well as the Anoka Hennepin Narcotic and Violent Crime Task Force began efforts to locate the suspect. Assistance was also provided by the Minneapolis Police Department, FBI, and Minnesota State Patrol.

Law enforcement attempted to take the suspect into custody in the parking lot of a business in the 600 block of East River Road in the City of Anoka. Upon doing so, the suspect rammed multiple law enforcement vehicles but was trapped in at the scene by police. At that time it turned into a hostage situation with the suspect’s girlfriend who was also in the vehicle. There are currently no known injuries and the incident remains active at this time with active negotiation attempts for a peaceful surrender. The Blaine Police Department, Anoka Police Department, and Anoka County/Anoka Police Department SWAT Team are all on scene involved in the incident.

Andover Death Investigations – Update
The decedents in the March 10, 2023, death investigations in the City of Andover have been identified as:
• Jennifer Yang, age 36, of Andover, MN
• Fue Her, age 40, of Andover, MN

Indications show that Mr. Her fatally shot Ms. Yang before taking his own life. This incident remains under investigation by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. No further information will be released at this time

Two people were found dead on the 14900 block of Osage Street NW around 6:30 am this morning.  Anoka county sheriff arrived and found a man and woman were in bed not breathing. It’s believed the couple had shot each other while in bed, according to the 911 caller.  No one else in the home were injured.

Andover Death Investigations

On March 10, 2023, at approximately 6:29 A.M., the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 14900 block of Osage St NW in the City of Andover on the report of two individuals not breathing inside of a residence. Upon arrival, responders located an adult male and adult female who were deceased and appeared to have suffered from gunshot wounds. None of the other occupants in the home were injured. The investigation is ongoing, however there is no threat to the public.

This incident is under investigation by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. The Coon Rapids Police Department and Blaine Police Department have also provided aid. No further information will be released at this time

Two adult males have been arrested and formally charged in connection to the March 9, 2023, homicide in
the City of Fridley.

• Johnson Kenny Sirleaf, age 32, of Plymouth, MN Murder in the 2nd Degree (With Intent)(Not Premeditated)
• Blanyon Toe Davies, age 29, of Brooklyn Park, MN – Aiding an Offender

This investigation remains ongoing by the Fridley Police Department, Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. No further information will be released at this time.

A man was shot and killed Thursday morning around 11am in the Cub parking lot in Fridley. Life saving efforts were started by passerby’s. Ems arrived and continued life saving efforts and proceeded to the hospital, where the man was pronounced deceased shortly after. I’ll update as soon as more information is released.

Looks like Devon Adams had a construction company in Hugo.

Officers were dispatched to the area of University and 57th avenues NE in response to a potential shooting in the west parking lot. Upon arrival, officers located a male down and performed life-saving measures.

Fridley Homicide

On March 9, 2023, at approximately 11:03 A.M., the Fridley Police Department, Columbia Heights Police Department, Coon Rapids Police Department, Spring Lake Park Police Department, Blaine Police Department, Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, and Allina EMS responded to 250 57th Ave NE in the City of Fridley on the report of an individual who had been shot in the parking lot of the Cub Foods. Lifesaving measures were administered by bystanders and first responders, and the adult male victim was transported via ambulance to a local hospital. Shortly after arrival, the male was declared deceased.

This investigation is in its early stages and limited public information is available. The incident is under investigation by the Fridley Police Department, Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. No further information will be released at this time.
