Gabrielle Barrett: Candice Diaz, Brad Fields arraigned

On 20 January, Candice Diaz and Brad Fields were arraigned. Fields plead “not guilty”. His attorney asked for a cash bond. The Judge denied them bond. Fields was said to wanting to go to his mother or aunts house if bond was set.

Next court appearance will be on 31 January 2018 for probable cause conference at 9 am.
And preliminary exam on 7 February 10 am.

Diaz plead “not guilty” to all charges.

Gabrielle Barrett: Arrest warrant for Candice Diaz and Brad Fields

The Sumpter Township police have issued arrest warrant for Candice Diaz, 24 and Brad Fields, 28. They are charged in the murder of 4 year old Gabrielle Barrett.

Police announced the warrant on Monday 8 January 2018. Diaz and Fields went on the run. They were arrested 8 January 2018 in Lake Park Georgia, 792 miles away from Sumpter Township.

It is reported that Diaz hae been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and anxiety. Fields claims he suffers from schizo affective disorder, social anxiety, agoraphobia and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Diaz and Fields were transported back to Michigan for their arraignments.

Gabrielle Barrett murdered, abused and tortured

Gabrielle Barrett was a 4 year old little girl who was tortured, abused and murdered on New Years day in Sumpter Township Michigan.

Police responded to a call of an unresponsive 4 year old. When they arrived CPR was being performed on Gabrielle by a family member. Gabrielle was transported to Ann Arbor hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Two days later Gabrielles death was was ruled a homicide by the Washtenaw County medical examiners office. It was reported that she was so badly burned that her big toe fell off. Police found melted skin in the bathtub. The mother, Candice Diaz claimed that Gabrielle ran her own bathwater on the 31st of December, which caused the burns but the mother never took her to the doctors. Diaz also claims that she left the girl in the tub to make pancakes and came back to find Gabrielle submerged in the tub. While pulling Gabrielle out of the tub, the mother said she vomited. Instead of calling 911 immediately, she waited 36 minutes.

Gabrielle’s body was burned and bruised all over.

Gabrielle’s half sister, Zoez, who is 1 year old, was removed from the home.
