The shooter, Robin Westman, 23 a transgender was born Robert Westman is deceased! Westman acted alone and found dead at the scene of a self inflicted gunshot wound. Westman was armed with a shotgun, a rifle and a pistol and shot from the outside of the church through its windows.

On 17 May 2021, 6-year-old Aniya Allen and her mother had just left a McDonald’s when at the intersection of N. 36th and Penn Av. shots from what is believed between two gangs rung out and hit Aniya. Aniya mom, Antrice Sease drove her directly to the Hennepin County Medical Center. Aniya was in critical condition.  Sadly Aniya succumb to her injuries on 19 May 2021.

Patrick Dembley arrested charged and guilty of shooting man, same gun that killed Aniya.

The gun that killed Aniya, was also used in a shooting that paralyzed a 19-year-old man who was shot in his car while sitting at Mayslack’s bar in Northeast Minneapolis. Camera’s in the area lead to the arrest of Patrick Dembley. Dembley was arrested and released on $80k bail. He is from Maple Grove. Dembley has admitted to carrying a gun at a Northeast Minneapolis bar in 2021 when he shot and injured a man. Police say at least one casing from the same weapon was found in the area where Aniya Allen was killed only days later. In 2022, Dembley was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for seriously injuring the man.

Vanessa was shot three times, one in each arm and one in her chest while she was watching street takeovers at North Second street and North 22nd Avenue, Minneapolis. Vanessa and her cousins were in the front row watching street racing, burnouts and donuts by “Hot Rodders”.  A shooting broke out, and if you watch any videos online, a shooting always seems to breakout.  Vanessa and her cousins thought it was fireworks then realized it was gun shots.  They ran back to their vehicle and that’s when she told her cousins she was shot.  They rushed her to the hospital where she passed away.

At 1:48 am, Minneapolis Police responded to the area of East Lake Street under the bridge that goes over Hiawatha on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers performed CPR and wound management until his care was turned over to paramedics. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center in grave condition by paramedics. Officers learned that the victim died a short time after arriving at the hospital.

Homicide investigators arrived at the scene and assisted patrol officers in the speaking with people. Detectives learned that a group of people in cars took over the portion of the East Lake Street where Hiawatha passes over it. The people in the cars were driving recklessly and spinning around in their cars causing damage to the roadway when two of the individuals got into a dispute. The two began to shoot at one another. A stray bullet struck an adult male who had pulled over to watch these vehicles. The victim was outside of his car when he was struck by the bullet.

Crime Lab personnel responded to document the scene and collect evidence.

The Medical Examiner will provide the identity of the victims along with the nature and cause of death in each of these cases.

C. The prosecutor has an interesting argument which tries to insulate the substance of a statement as work product. State v. Galvan, 374 N.W.2d 269 (Minn. 1985).
(Work product does not shield the substance of a statement from required disclosure).

D. The prosecutor does not list the person making the statement as a witness.

Statements must be disclosed even if the prosecutor does not regard the person making the statement as a witness pursuant to rule 9.01 of the Minnesota Rules of Criminal Procedure.

The defendant specifically demands that if the prosecutor seeks to shield any statement or other disclosure with a claim of privilege of any kind, that the prosecutor identify the material and privilege at the time disclosure would otherwise be due.

The defendant also specifically demands that the State produce “Electronically Stored
Information” or “ESI” which includes all writings and matter of any kind as described in I(1-7) that are stored electronically in any medium from which information can be obtained either directly or, if necessary, after translation by the State into a reasonably useable form. If the State determines that it cannot be translated into a reasonably useable form, the Defendant requests notice of the existence of such ESI and the preservation thereof. Derrick John Thompson ran from the scene of the collision. He ran northbound on Butterfly Lane. He has
been located and is in custody in the State of Minnesota. Thompson was established as the driver of Vehicle. Thompsons belongings were found in the center console of Malibu. His Bank card & Minnesota id.

Justyn Sanders was the one who rented the vehicle in LA. He was the front passenger in the Malibu.
Sanders said told police that ‘D’ was driving because he knew the area.

A parameter was set up and a k-9 was used to search for Thompson. Thompson was gone. Apparently ran all the way to Minnesota.

Sanders was sitting on a rock in handcuffs, after being detained by VPD Officers. He was identified by his Minnesota driver license, and he related in essence the following: He was sitting in the right front passenger seat of the. Chevrolet as some guy named “D” was driving them southbound on the 101. The driver had his right hand on the steering wheel and a gun wrapped in a sock, pointed to his head. They were in the middle lane. He tried to open the door to get out of the car. The driver “jumped on it” and drove on the right shoulder at approximately 60 miles per hour. They kept driving around. The driver made a right, when he saw three ladies in the front of the car. The ladies jumped out of the way, but one of them jumped onto the hood and hit the windshield. He never heard or saw any police following them. After the collision, the driver took off running and then the police got them out of the car and put them in handcuffs.

Hickerson was contacted at the scene sitting in the back right of the VPD patrol vehicle while detained in handouffs. He was identified from his Minnesota driver license and he related in essence the following: He was in the back right seat of the Chevrolet, asleep in an upright position. He woke up as the Chevrolet was making a sharp right turn. He saw the front windshield was shattered and looked to the right side as they crashed into a wall. He saw the police behind them, got out of the car and put his hands up. He was put in handcuffs by the police and placed in the back of their police truck.

Inside the vehicle eight kilograms of marijuana (17.6 lbs) and over $20,000 in cash.

The victim: JJJ suffered severe bodily injury including, but not limited to, Traumatic Brain Injury with Diffuse Axonal Injury/Shearing Injury in bilateral frontoparietal lobes and corpus callosum, Left and Right subdural hematoma, Subarachnoid hemorrhage, Subdural hemorrhage, Acute Respiratory Failure, Fracture of the Radius and Ulna, Shaft left, Open Pelvic Ring Fracture, Displaced Fracture of the Left Acetabulum, Fracture of the Fibula Head, Right, Four part Fracture End Left Humerus, Patella Fracture, Fracture of Sixth and Seventh Cervical Vertebra with Fusion, Fracture Multiple Ribs – Both Sides, Fracture of Thoracic Transverse Process, Fracture of Spinous Process of Thoracic Vertebra, Fracture of Lumbar Vertebra with Fusion L1-5, Compression Fracture of L3 Lumbar Vertebra

Justyn Desean Sanders crimes in Minnesota he has 1 possession of marijuana and tons of parking violations and Diamonte Markel Hickerson fleeing police, parking violations, speeding, fighting.
Thompson is now sitting in jail on 5 counts of murder and 5 counts of vehicular homicide. $1m bail but it said he won’t be getting out because he is federally charged and he violated his parole out of California.

MINNEAPOLIS – Derrick John Thompson has been charged in a federal criminal complaint with illegal possession of fentanyl and a firearm following a deadly vehicle crash that killed five victims, announced U.S. Attorney Andrew M. Luger.

According to court documents, on June 16, 2023, a trooper with the Minnesota State Patrol observed a black Cadillac SUV speeding north on I-35W, traveling at 95 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour speed zone. The trooper began following the SUV but did not initiate the emergency lights or attempt to make a traffic stop because the trooper did not want to cause the driver, later identified as Thompson, 27, to continue to drive recklessly on city streets. The trooper observed Thompson abruptly cut across four lanes of traffic to exit the freeway at the Lake Street exit. At the intersection of 2nd Avenue South and East Lake Street, Thompson sped through a red light at the intersection without stopping or slowing. The SUV struck at full speed the driver’s side of a Honda Civic that was traveling lawfully through the intersection. All five occupants of the Honda Civic, four adult females and one juvenile female, were killed. When law enforcement responded to the scene of the crash, witnesses told officers that Thompson had fled on foot through a nearby alley. Officers found Thompson sitting on the curb outside of a nearby restaurant. Officers detained Thompson, who was later transported to Hennepin County Medical Center for evaluation.

According to court documents, an officer found at the scene a Hertz rental record for the Cadillac SUV indicating that Thompson rented the vehicle from a Hertz located at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport approximately 30 minutes before the crash. After obtaining a warrant to search the SUV, officers found a black leather bag on the front passenger side floor that contained a loaded Glock pistol with an extended magazine, as well as three baggies containing 2,169 blue “M-Box 30” fentanyl pills, a baggie containing an additional 14 grams of powder fentanyl, a baggie containing 13 MDMA pills, a baggie containing 35 grams of cocaine, and a digital scale.

Because Thompson has a prior felony conviction, he is prohibited under federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition at any time.

The complaint charges Thompson with possession of a firearm as a felon, possession of fentanyl, and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime. If convicted of the charges, Thompson faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and up to life in federal prison. Thompson, who is currently in state custody in Hennepin County, will make his initial appearance in U.S. District Court at a later date.

This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the FBI, the Minneapolis Police Department, the Minnesota State Patrol, and the Minneapolis–St. Paul Airport Police Department, in close coordination with the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Thomas Calhoun-Lopez and Ruth S. Shnider are prosecuting the case.

A complaint is merely an allegation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty today announced that Derrick John Thompson, 27, of Brooklyn Park, has been charged in Hennepin County District Court with 10 counts of criminal vehicular homicide after Thompson’s grossly negligent and criminally reckless driving conduct led to a crash on June 16 that killed five young women. Moriarty added that the office will seek a separate sentence for each victim if Thompson is convicted. While these charges have been filed, additional evidence is still being processed, including Thompson’s blood toxicology and DNA testing.

Law enforcement responding to the scene of the crash also recovered a Glock 40 caliber semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine, along with significant quantities of fentanyl from Thompson’s vehicle. As the County Attorney’s Office began its review of the evidence in this case, Moriarty engaged in discussions with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI about possible federal charges related to the firearm and narcotics.

“The deaths of these five young women is devastating for their loved ones and has shaken our community,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “We value each of these young women’s lives and plan to seek a separate sentence for each life lost. I firmly believe in the potential for redemption and second chances, but Mr. Thompson has repeatedly engaged in extraordinarily dangerous criminal driving conduct related to apparent large-scale drug dealing. He has caused immeasurable pain and suffering in multiple states and we will seek a significant sentence that appropriately reflects the devastation he has caused and ensures a lengthy period of incapacitation.”

 

“When you get behind the wheel of a vehicle, you control a dangerous weapon capable of inflicting horrific destruction. Every driver must recognize that fact. We cannot tolerate this level of recklessness on our roads, especially when it comes with the dangerous combination of guns and drugs.”

According to the criminal complaint filed by the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office:

On or about June 16, 2023, at approximately 10:09 p.m., a Minnesota State Trooper was stationed in a fully marked Minnesota State Patrol squad vehicle at the bus stop on I-35W North at 46th Street in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, when the Trooper observed a black Cadillac Escalade SUV traveling northbound on I-35W drive by the Trooper at a high rate of speed. The radar on the Trooper’s squad vehicle indicated the black Cadillac Escalade was traveling 95 mph in a 55-mph zone. The black Cadillac Escalade was also weaving in and out of traffic lanes in a reckless manner. The Trooper attempted to catch up to the black Cadillac Escalade. However, prior to the Trooper catching up to the black Cadillac Escalade and attempting to initiate a traffic stop, the black Cadillac Escalade, which was traveling in the far-left lane, abruptly cut across all four lanes of traffic and exited I-35 at the Lake Street exit ramp at a high rate of speed. The Trooper never activated their emergency lights or sirens.

The black Cadillac Escalade continued to travel at a high rate of speed northbound down the exit ramp and through the 2nd Avenue and East Lake Street intersection. The black Cadillac Escalade did not stop or slow down for the red light at the intersection but proceeded through the intersection at a high rate of speed. At the same time, a black Honda Civic had the green light and was lawfully traveling westbound on East Lake Street through the intersection. The black Cadillac Escalade collided violently with the black Honda Civic and t-boned the black Honda Civic on the driver side of the vehicle in the middle of the intersection causing catastrophic damage to both vehicles. The black Cadillac Escalade crashed into the Black Honda Civic with enough force to crush the black Honda Civic, pushing the black Honda Civic out of the intersection and pinning it against the wall of the I-35W bridge. The crash was caught on video surveillance cameras in the area.

The five occupants of the black Honda Civic were subsequently identified. The driver of black Honda Civic was identified as adult female victim S.G., age 20. The front seat passenger was identified as adult female victim S.O., age 19. The back seat passengers were identified as adult female victims S.A., age 20, and S.H., age 19, and a known juvenile female victim, age 17.

The Trooper observed the crash from approximately 0.15 miles to the south and activated his lights and emergency sirens to respond to the crash. The Trooper immediately went to the black Honda Civic. The Trooper observed that the black Honda Civic had extensive damage and all five victims in the Honda Civic had no signs of life and were deceased. EMS subsequently arrived at the scene and pronounced all five victims deceased.

The black Cadillac Escalade also had significant damage throughout the vehicle. Routine checks revealed the black Cadillac Escalade was a rented vehicle from a Hertz Rental Car located at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International (“MSP”) Airport.

Minneapolis Police Officers and other State Troopers arrived shortly thereafter. Officers located a Hertz rental car receipt on the ground right outside the black Cadillac Escalade. The rental car receipt listed the renter as “Derrick Thompson.” The driver was later fully identified as DERRICK JOHN THOMPSON, the Defendant herein. The receipt indicated that the date and time of the rental was June 16, 2023, at 9:46 p.m., approximately 24 minutes before the crash. Officers were able to confirm that there was video surveillance footage from Hertz of Defendant renting the black Cadillac Escalade from Hertz at the MSP Airport.

Officers spoke to witness A. Witness A informed officers that they observed the accident and saw Defendant exit the vehicle and flee the scene on foot. Witness A provided a detailed physical description of Defendant and the clothing Defendant was wearing. Witness A also informed officers that Defendant was limping as he fled the scene. Witness B informed officers that he observed Defendant flee the scene after the accident and informed officers that Defendant was nearby at Taco Bell.

Defendant was subsequently located near the scene of the crash at Taco Bell. Defendant was sitting on the curb in the parking lot of Taco Bell. Defendant also had injuries consistent with being in a car accident. Defendant was bleeding from a laceration on his forehead, had blood on his hands and clothing, and was sweating profusely. Officers inquired with Defendant about how he sustained his injuries. Defendant initially told officers, “I cut myself. This is old. This is an old cut.” Officers informed Defendant that his injuries looked recent. Defendant then told officers that he was injured when he “fell” earlier in the night. Defendant then provided officers with his photo identification.

Defendant was arrested, and officers observed Defendant was walking with a limp. A show-up was conducted with Witness A. Witness A positively identified Defendant as the driver of the black Cadillac Escalade and the individual they observed flee the scene after the crash. Witness A was “one hundred percent” positive in their identification of Defendant.

Defendant was subsequently transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Medical personnel confirmed Defendant had a broken hip.

On June 20, 2023, a known witness came to the police precinct and provided officers with cell phone video of the crash. In the video, Defendant approaches the witness’s car after the crash and asks the witness to give him a ride.

Officers obtained a search warrant to collect blood from the Defendant. Officers executed the search warrant. The results of the blood draw are still pending.

Officers obtained a search warrant to search the black Cadillac Escalade. During the search of the vehicle, officers discovered a Glock 40 caliber semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine with live ammunition in the magazine. Officers also discovered over 250 grams, including over 2,000 individual pills, of suspected narcotics which field-tested positive for fentanyl, thirteen additional pills which field-tested positive for MDMA, and approximately 35.6 grams of white powder which field-tested positive for cocaine. Police also collected swabs for DNA testing from inside the vehicle. Results of the DNA testing are still pending.

Routine checks also revealed Defendant has the following prior convictions:

Felony evading police causing injury or death, felony hit-and-run resulting in serious bodily injury or death, and felony conspiracy (18-CR-08-676) (2020, California);

Fleeing police in a motor vehicle and false information to police (62-CR-17-7622) on May 7, 2018; and

Fifth Degree Drug Possession (62-CR-15-4853) on October 1, 2015.

Defendant’s driving record includes numerous charges and convictions for driving after suspension and driving after revocation. Defendant’s Minnesota driver’s license was revoked in 2018 after he was convicted for fleeing police in a motor vehicle. Defendant’s license was reinstated in March 2023.

Defendant has been discharged from the hospital and is in custody.

To ensure a fair court process, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office will have no further comment while the case is pending unless additional evidence develops that impacts charges.

Driver in Montecito hit-and-run that put woman in coma sentenced to 8 years in prison

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – A man who struck and injured a woman in Montecito while fleeing law enforcement has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

Derrick John Thompson, 23, pleaded guilty to evading an officer causing injury, leaving the scene of an accident causing permanent injury and conspiracy to possess marijuana for sale – all felonies.

While trying to navigate a turn from Channel Drive onto Butterfly Lane, Thompson’s vehicle hit a 58-year-old North Carolina woman who was staying at a nearby house.

Thompson then fled the scene on foot while the woman remained at the scene, seriously injured. His two passengers, Diamonte Markel Hickerson of Newport, Minnesota, and Justyn Desean Sanders of Maplewood Minnesota, were detained by police.

Officers searched the vehicle and found more than 17 pounds of marijuana and over $20,000 in cash.

Thompson was eventually identified as the suspect and was arrested and extradited from Saint Paul, Minnesota. Meanwhile, the woman that was hit by his vehicle fought for her life while in a coma for several weeks.

Thompson pleaded guilty to charges on Jan. 26 after prosecutors refused to offer a plea deal. On Tuesday, despite prosecutors asking for additional prison time, Thompson was sentenced to eight years in prison.

“This case was a series of dangerous criminal choices that resulted in a horrendous conclusion,” Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley said in a press release. “The victim has made a miraculous recovery but will still live with the injuries inflicted by this defendant for the rest of her life.”

On March 31, 2023, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Winona Police Department was contacted by a person who identified herself as a friend of Madeline Jane Kingsbury, DOB 06/01/1996. The friend reported to police that she was concerned with the health and safety of Madeline. According to the friend, Madeline had not attempted to contact or communicate with her throughout the day, which the friend indicated was unusual. The friend was concerned and had gone to Madeline’s residence, saw her minivan in the driveway and knocked on the door, and no one responded. The friend also told police that she was aware that Madeline was having issues with her significant other who also lived at the residence. The friend identified the significant other as Adam Fravel. Winona police officers met the friend at Madeline’s residence located in Winona, Winona County, Minnesota. An officer knocked on the door of the residence and looked in the windows, no one responded, and the officer did not see anyone inside. Shortly thereafter, officers spoke with Madeline’s father on the telephone and learned that her family had also not had contact with her that day. The father reported that it was uncharacteristic for Madeline not to have contact with family members or friends. A Winona police officer spoke with Adam Taylor Fravel, DOB 01/29/1994, by telephone. According to Fravel, he had not heard from Madeline since early in the morning, that she was supposed to pick up their children at their Winona daycare after she finished working, but she did not. Fravel stated he picked up the children at the daycare and took them to his parents’ residence in Mabel, Minnesota. Later that evening, officers were able to conduct a welfare check inside the Winona residence and determined that no one was inside the residence.

Law enforcement investigators have spoken with the children’s daycare provider, who confirmed that both Madeline and Fravel were present when they dropped their children off at daycare on the morning of March 31, 2023, at approximately 8:05 a.m. The daycare provider also stated that Fravel was alone when he picked the children up at the end of the day.

On April 1, 2023, law enforcement investigators obtained a search warrant for the Madeline/Fravel residence in Winona. The interior of the residence was cluttered, but there did not appear to be overt signs of a struggle. During the search, law enforcement officers located what investigators later determined to be Madeline’s cell phone, jacket, and purse in the residence. Investigators also located a laptop computer that investigators later determined Madeline used to work from home. Investigators later obtained access to the cell phone’s databases. It was determined that a text message was sent from the cell phone to Madeline’s sister on March 31, 2023, at 8:15 a.m. Investigators noted that there were no subsequent text messages or phone calls sent from Madeline’s cell phone.

Law enforcement investigators had follow up conversations with Adam Fravel on April 1 and April 2, 2023. During these conversations, Fravel told investigators that he had met Madeline at college in Winona and that they have had an on and off again relationship for the past seven years. Fravel stated that they have two children, ages five and two. Fravel indicated that Madeline worked from home and in Rochester, Minnesota. Fravel stated Madeline would generally travel to Rochester for work on Mondays and Fridays. Fravel acknowledged that Madeline was the primary income producer for the family, and she would forward him money electronically to pay the family bills. Fravel acknowledged that recently their relationship was not working, so they decided to separate and were in the process of moving out of their Winona residence. Madeline had been looking at different apartments in the area for her and the children to live in. Fravel indicated that about two weeks ago, Madeline had told him that she had begun a relationship with another man, but that he did not know how long the relationship had been going on. Fravel stated that on Friday, March 31, 2023, together he and Madeline dropped their children at daycare at around 8:00 a.m. and they drove home. Once they arrived, Madeline stated that she had an online meeting and afterwards was going to Rochester for work. He indicated he observed Madeline go downstairs to her home office.

Also during the conversations, Fravel stated he had planned to do property storage runs most of the day. His plan was to travel to his parents’ home near Mabel, Minnesota, with items he wanted to store at his parents’ residence and return to Winona and take items to Midwest Storage located in Winona. Fravel indicated that prior to leaving for Mabel, he had stopped at a gas station near his Winona residence. He said that when he loaded up Madeline’s van, he wasn’t really paying attention to what he was loading. Fravel believed he left his residence and began driving the van to Mabel at approximately 10:15 a.m.

Fravel continued with the following information. Fravel stated that when he got to Choice (an area in Fillmore County) he started thinking about what he was going to do. He said he looked to the rear in the van and realized the items he had were meant to be stored at the storage unit, not his parents’ place. He turned around in the driveway of a barn in Choice and drove back to his residence in Winona. Fravel believed he arrived at the residence at about 11:30 a.m. and emptied the van at the Madeline/Fravel residence. Fravel stated that he did not make any stops on his trip to and from Choice. When he entered the residence, he did not see Madeline. He stated he did notice his car was still home and thought that Madeline may have carpooled to Rochester. Fravel stated he remained at the residence for the remainder of the afternoon. During this time, he texted Madeline, but never got a response. Eventually, he went downstairs, and Madeline was not there. He stated that he texted Madeline regarding picking up the kids and asked about plans for supper. When she did not respond, he decided to pick up the children at daycare and drive them to his parents’ residence in Mabel.

Also during their conversations with Fravel, law enforcement disclosed to Fravel a concerned person’s report that Fravel told Madeline that if she did not listen up, that she would end up like Gabby Petito. Fravel admitted being “infatuated” with the Gabby Petito case. Fravel also admitted that he made a statement to Madeline about her ending up like Gabby Petito. Fravel claimed he was trying to make a joke. The Gabby Petito case made national news. It was the story of a twenty-two year-old woman who went missing. After extensive searches, Petito’s remains were found near a park in Wyoming. It was reported Petito died of strangulation. The media also reported that Petito’s fianc claimed responsibility for her death in a notebook.

Investigating officers spoke with a friend of Madeline who indicated that sometime in 2020 or 2021 she was on a video call with Madeline, who was at her Winona residence. Madeline was standing up, holding one of her children and cooking dinner. The friend observed Fravel enter the room and yell at Madeline to keep quiet. Madeline asked Fravel to calm down and he stated he was not going to calm down and struck Madeline in the face with his hand. It appeared that Fravel was not aware he was being observed on the video call, as when the friend yelled at Fravel over the video call he immediately left the room. The friend told investigators that there were several times during video calls that she observed bruises on Madeline’s face. When the friend inquired about the bruises, Madeline would cover them with her sweater.

Investigators spoke with a family member of Madeline’s. During that conversation, the family member discussed an earlier incident. The family member said she learned Fravel put his hands around Madeline’s throat. The family member went with another person to go get Madeline. The family member noted Madeline had a red mark on the side of her neck that day.

Pursuant to search warrants, investigating officers conducted forensic extractions on two Apple iPhones believed to belong to Madeline. A review of the forensic extractions of those two phones revealed Kingsbury as the owner and user. There were messages, as well as screen shots of messages between Madeline and Fravel, dating back numerous years. One screenshot, taken on September 21, 2021, contained the following iMessage conversation between the Madeline and Fravel:

Maddi – “You know I’m not really okay with or over the fact that you put your hand around my neck and pushed me down in front of the kids earlier so don’t”
Maddi – “Not okay with it all but especially with them there.”
Fravel – “You’ll adjust”
Maddi – “The f*ck I will”
Maddi – “You do that again without asking me and you can go somewhere else” Fravel – “You got it mother”
Maddi – “Don’t patronize me that crossed a line.” Fravel – “Then mind”

Abdullah Arif, 48, of Stillwater was shot to death outside Union Tabacco shop on the 500 block of Stryker Ave around 3:30 p.m on 16 February.  Arif is the father of 3.

Today Elias-Kareem Hany Aly, 21 was charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

Three men entered the smoke shop and they were asked to remove their face coverings because of an ongoing issue with theft. The men then argued with staff, with one of them reportedly saying, “You don’t know this, but I’m about that life.”

Aly was wearing the same blue flannel shirt at the store that he was seen wearing at the courthouse.  Aly walked out of the store, he reached up and pulled down a green chime that contained a Ring camera off the door, then went and sat in the Durango. The men who entered with Aly reportedly told Arif that he didn’t know them and to watch his tone. Arif then picked up a baseball bat and walked out with another employee to get the chime back, and that’s when Arif was shot. Arid never lifted the bat.

Aly was arrested the next day in a traffic stop outside an apartment building on Grove Ave. The Durango was found in an underground parking garage. The person who was with Aly at the time of the shooting was arrested and questioned by police, who reportedly said that “That man didn’t have to die.”

Aly bond is $2.5m and his court appearance is 15 March 2023.
